2008 - 2009

ProvoREADS! is a joint initiative involving the Provo City School District, the Provo City Library at Academy Square, and Provo City. The program is designed to promote literacy, to broaden and deepen an appreciation of reading, and to foster a sense of community by bringing people together reading a common book.

Kickoff Party: You're Invited to the ProvoREADS Kickoff Party!

When: Wednesday, September 10, 2008
Where: Provo City Library, Bullock Room, 3rd floor
Admission: Free

Everyone is invited to celebrate the new ProvoREADS! book for 2008-2009! Provo City School District and Provo City Library are proud to present the The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo as this year's choice.

A combined elementary school choir will entertain while refreshments are served during an exciting book giveaway! Gene Nelson, Provo City Library's Director, will also give a book talk centered on The Tale of Despereaux. Remember to look for Provo City's Mayor, Lewis K. Billings, at the party. He will be there to sign the official ProvoREADS! Proclamation.
