Registration for Summer Reading begins May 31st at the Summer Reading Kickoff from 9:00am to 6:00pm in the Provo City Library Ballroom.
You must show your Provo City Library card to register. Children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at registration. Registration will continue until July 1st.
At registration each child receives a reading log and a T-shirt. Some T-shirt sizes run out quickly, so register early. T-shirt availability is on a first-come, first served basis.
How Does Summer Reading Work?

Each child decides how many minutes he/she will read each day during June and July and writes that reading goal on the Summer Reading Log.

Each time the child reads that amount, he/she marks off one of the lady bugs on the reading chart.

The child must mark off all of the spaces by July 26th.
- The last week in July the child may bring the completed Summer Reading Log to the Children’s Desk to receive the Summer Reading Prizes which are coupons from local businesses.
- They also receive a pass to the End of Summer Reading Party on July 31st, 8:30-10:00 pm. This is an exclusive pool party held at the Veterans Memorial Pool, 450 West 500 North, Provo, for those who finish the Summer Reading program.
